“If a wise man contendeth with a foolish man, whether he rage or laugh, there is no rest.”–Proverbs 9:9
Joe Biden IS the Democrat party–to paraphrase Rush Limbaugh. Joe Biden did, at the Vice Presidential debate, what Democrats do; they mock, they interrupt, they laugh at serious matters, and they bear false witness with impunity. Joe Biden is the face of the absurd, the irrational, the uncivil Left.
My years in education, most of which were spent in Special Education, have given me a window of understanding into the minds of emotionally underdeveloped Democrats and Liberals–that sounds funny but it’s true. Joe Biden exhibits all the developmental anomalies common to many, though not all, on the Left. In particular, what we saw on Thursday, October 11, 2012, was a man desperate to escape his own skin. Biden’s level of discomfort with himself, the role he is expected to play, the web of lies he must navigate, and the crushing accountability that looms before him and the Obama administration, revealed itself in his bizarre psychological train wreck on national television.
1 To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:
2 A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted;
3 A time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up;
4 A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance;
There is a Biblical imperative to refrain from loud laughter at inappropriate times. Scripture, as those versed in the wisdom of Judeo-Christian teachings know, is not a set of arbitrary rules and commandments to control people. The scriptures are a collection of inspired writings, words of wisdom, designed to teach and guide those in civil society in ways that will perpetuate civility, individual liberty, and human happiness. The directive to refrain from loud laughter is not to dampen humor or fun, it is a matter of respect for oneself and the larger society.
3 For the time past of our life may suffice us to have wrought the will of the Gentiles, when we walked in lasciviousness, lusts, excess of wine, revellings, banquetings, and abominable idolatries:
4 Wherein they think it strange that ye run not with them to the same excess of riot, speaking evil of you:
1 Peter 4:3-4
This passage from the KJV New Testament speaks of temperance. What we see in current political rhetoric and debate is intemperance. This wisdom from St. Peter doesn’t proscribe passion, but it encourages self control, measured speech, and good behavior.
These observations are hardly revolutionary. Let’s look at recent examples in the Occupy Wall Street Movement: slovenly and filthy people, profanity, obscenity in pictures an on signs, public urination and defecation, litter, filth, violence, vandalism, rape, substance abuse, and contentions were all facets of this Leftist Occupy operation. Conversely, the Tea Party, a decidedly Right operation, was peaceful, civil, non-violent, clean, and the only bad behavior during Tea Party rallies was perpetrated by leftist plants. Temperance versus rage, civility versus violence, soberness versus emotional dissipation.
The Democrat Party is self-destructing. When, after decades of banishing religion, prayer, and morality from their policies, the left-wing base of the Democrat Party kicked God out of its platform and lost its soul. So, what we saw from Biden last Thursday, and from his boss the Wednesday before, is more than just the leaders of the Free World having off days. This is who they are. When God is eliminated from one’s context, the truth becomes an obstacle to be subverted and morality becomes a hindrance to one’s devious endgame. The leaders of the Democrat Party, the Obama Administration and its thugs in the media, have nothing with which to debate but pathetic, uncomfortable laughter, smirks, dismissive eye rolling, and lies.
2 I said of laughter, It is mad: and of mirth, What doeth it?
Is it a little bit crazy to laugh at the prospect of nuclear Iran? Is it nutso to smirk at a plan to put 23 million Americans who are suffering without jobs back to work? Is it insane to guffaw at concerns about the security of overseas embassies when four Americans have been killed because of a lack of security? In the case of Joe Biden, his mirth is madness, and his laughter may be one symptom of the emotional and spiritual implosion of the Obama presidency.
