BLOG means different things to different people. When Liberals are spewing their fabricated, psychedelic, hooha along the information superhighway, it stands for Bestial Licentious Obama Gangsters. But now that Conservatives have mastered the light-speed autobahn of propaganda, BLOG stands for Bashing Liberal Ogres for God.
The essential consideration that disqualifies cannabis as the moral equivalent of alcohol is human tradition, especially Western tradition. Alcohol is found everywhere and virtually every culture has a set of traditions which dictate its use.
Millenial Libertarians, most of whom have sound moral instincts, are disgusted with politics as usual, and they resent the damage to our economy and culture brought on by the Baby Boomers; in particular the massive growth and repressive nature of governing bodies. Their primary political philosophy is based simply on the desire to live free without government constantly in their business.
The latest contemptible conspiracy theory ping-ponging around the Internet is the one which claims the Islamic terrorist bombings in Boston that killed three and maimed hundreds were actually staged by the Federal Government as an excuse to implement Martial Law.
you want to know what really bugs me about the devoted conspiracy buff? Government is not a necessary evil, nor is it necessarily evil. Government is a good when it performs its proper role within the proper constraints of Constitutional law. The law is the great moral paragon. When laws are established that recognize the absolutes of reality–such as the fact that a human child, whether in or out of the womb, is a human child–the culture of the body politic is permeated with the same moral sensibility. You may call such a sensibility a stigma, or a standard, but either way it is the back painting of the moral conscience of a self-governing people.
On the laughable AntiWar.com forum, a blogger named Justin has recently posted a ridiculous screed titled “An Open Letter to Ron Paul”, in which he calls on his pseudo-prophet to run as a third party candidate.
In the latest poll from The Washington Times and JZ Analytics, 48 percent said the U.S. should maintain a policy of intervening where its interests are challenged. But 46 percent disagree, saying the country is “in a new global era” where it can no longer take such an active role.
